My friend Dan Shapiro is a great programmer (he used to work for Google) and a dad and a very smart and cool person! He recently left his job and spent moths working on a board game called Turtle Robots that teaches little kids how to program!
One of the cooler things about the game is that he exhaustively playtested the game with boys and girls and made sure the game appealed to both of them equally. (It’s essentially a gender-neutral version of GoldieBlox that focuses more on programming than engineering.)
The Turtle Robots Kickstarter campaign has already been fully funded (in under 5 hours!) but you should check it out anyway especially if you have kids, or care about kids! Even if you can’t afford to back the project, it would still help a lot if you could reblog this post and help spread the word!
